Death Risk rises to 24 after deadly Cambodia summerhouse fire

The death risk has risen to 24 following a huge fire that gulfed a summerhouse complex in Cambodia as hunt and deliverance operations proceeded Friday with dozens still unaccounted for, according to authorities.
Banteay Meanchey fiefdom spokesperson Sek Sokhom told HM NEWS that officers were now working to determine the ethnicities of those killed in the blaze at the Grand Diamond City Hotel and Casino in Poipet, near the Thai border.
The cause of the fire remains unknown and the Cambodian government has set up a commission to probe, he said.
At least 70 people were injured in the blaze, he said before.
Thai saviors who responded to exigency calls from Cambodian authorities said more bodies had been set up trapped inside hostel apartments on Friday.
Somboon Kwan- uam, with Thailand’s Poh Teck Tung Foundation, said bank situations in the corridors were lower Friday after hampering earlier deliverance sweats when numerous of the victims were set up dead from bank inhalation locked inside their hostel apartments.
“ We set up seven further bodies from apartments on the alternate bottom, ” Somboon said.
Some of the victims ’ bodies were anticipated to be transported back to Thailand Friday, he added.

Sek Sokhom said the hostel used an electric system for apartments and elevators, so when the fire started and the structure lost electricity, numerous people were stuck in their apartments and couldn't escape.

Weather conditions may have helped the fire to spread, he added.
“ It was veritably windy last night, ” he said. “ The fire spread up snappily to the upper bottoms and also to every side, gulfing the whole structure. ”
He said he also saw a structure lose electricity and the lights go off.
